Who Am I?
Hi! My name is Deanna and I'm 22 years old. I have been into anime and video games for as long as I can remember. I started out drawing my favorite characters and oogling at fanart online until one day, I found pictures of people dressing up as those characters. I had no idea that was even a thing! It was from there that my passion for cosplay started. However, it was only within the past few years that I started making my own costumes. Before I would buy costumes online and eagerly wait a month or so for it to get here, up until I started to cosplay characters you couldn't buy. That was exciting, until I realized how much money I was spending on buy everything!
Thus, the Thrifty Apprentice was born!
My speciality is finding clothing pieces, mainly from thrift stores, and modifying them to my needs. This saves time, money, and stress. I always say, why make something simple like a shirt or a jacket from scratch when you can buy one for $6 at the thrift store and just add a bit of detail to it? On this blog, I will share my tips and tricks to making amazing looking costumes...
all for under $100.
Cosplay doesn't need to be expensive, difficult, or intimidating.
