Cyber Backstreet Boys Set For Debut
Source: Billboard
The Backstreet Boys' online alter egos, the Cyber Crusaders, will debut online Saturday (Aug. 26) with a party at Hard Rock Live in Orlando, Fla., according to the Hollywood Reporter. Pioneering Marvel Comics artist Stan Lee's Stan Lee Media designed 22 online cartoons featuring the Backstreet Boys' likenesses, which can be viewed at the Backstreet Project Web site. Comic books featuring the same characters debuted earlier this year.
Backstreet Project is offering a preview of the storyline for the first episode, which involves a spaceship crash, "a beautiful alien creature," "mystic crystals," and a "genetic cyclone."
In conjunction with the launch of the series is a five-week promotion with Burger King, including TV ads designed by Stan Lee Media, action figures inscribed with the Backstreet Project Web address, three CDs, and a 45-minute video titled "For The Fans."
The promotion, which includes Burger King's exclusive sponsorship of the Backstreet Boys' fall tour, will run Aug. 28-Oct. 1 in the U.S. and Canada.
