As previously reported in an exclusive worldpop interview Backstreet Boys have announced they will be flying into the UK in the next few days. The band have confirmed that they will team up with Elton John to perform at London's Party In The Park on 9 July.

The artists, who first performed together at the Grammys in February, will entertain the audience with three numbers, Backstreet's Number One hit, I Want It That Way, Elton's Philadelphia Freedom and what is hotly rumoured to be a collaboration single, Friends Never Say Goodbye, from the movie The Road To Eldorado.

Elton said he is 'absolutely thrilled' to be performing at the forthcoming event in Hyde Park and added that he is, 'really looking forward to going onstage in front of 100,000 people with the Backstreet Boys.'

More Backstreet Boys news ... Brian Littrell has co-written a song, originally intended to appear on the group's fourth album, for Jive Records' latest rising star Don Philip. The track, How Did I Ever, turns up on Don's self-titled, debut album which is released on 22 August. 'I think he was originally writing it for the BSB's own album, but I got it first,' explains Don, who currently opens for Britney Spears on her US tour. 'I loved the song and gave it my own flavour and he approved. It's a mid-tempo song and it's the single that's out in Japan right now.'

Meanwhile, Brian is the next Backstreet Boy expected to walk up the aisle, after announcing his engagement to fiance Leighanne Wallace earlier this year. The pair have reportedly written a piece for a future issue of People magazine, detailing their life together and their forthcoming wedding plans.
