Matt from the tv show The Real World, has a website where he keeps his journal entries. The following journal entry was dated 2.26.00:
And now I am going to a Backstreet Boys concert...Flying in on surfboards was pretty cool. They looked like superheroes in their Batman and Robin-esque muscle suits. And to the 100,000 teenage girls, they are superheroes. I would say other than the BSB themselves, I was the only 21 yr old male in the place. Other than that small insecurity, I pretty much enjoyed myself. I didn't have to worry about being kicked in the head by a crowd surfer, or having my earring ripped out by some arm-flailing freak, or losing my shoe in a mosh pit never to be seen again. Heck, I could even sit down when I got tired. Those girls managed to scream the WHOLE time. I mean, they screamed every time those guys winked, sighed, or tossed their hip. They could have farted and those 13yrs olds would have fallen to the ground in awe.
