Did you know?
We asked Aaron who his celeb crush was and he told us he's a big fan of Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen. Yep, the Olsen twins. But when we asked which one, he couldn't choose. "I don't know how to pick," he said. "What if I get the wrong one?!"
Only 13 years old and already an international recording star. Say hello to Aaron Carter.
Aaron Carter likes Eminem, his big brother Nick and riding dirt bikes. Oh, and he really digs being an international pop star. Yes, we said international. He's already had four top ten singles in England, now he's inviting the U.S. to join the party with his new album, "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)."
Did we mention Aaron's only 13 years old? Imagine, releasing an album, touring with Backstreet Boys and Britney. Pretty impressive, huh?
We're guessing Aaron's good genes can't hurt either. Girls everywhere worship his big brother Nick, and his big sister Leslie is also launching a singing career. Aaron, however, knew he wanted to be a singer when he only six years old, tagging along with his brother to Backstreet Boys rehearsals. Nick hasn't just influenced Aaron professionally; Aaron also credits him with teaching him not "to be big-headed and to stay down to earth."
We caught up with Aaron during a break in his tour with Britney Spears to talk about a bunch of stuff: His new album, Britney (of course) and what advice his big bro gives him. And you'll never believe who his favorite group is!
Katrillion: You obviously grew up in a musical household. Was there always a lot of music around you?
Aaron: Well, there was always music playing. I liked that because I was always dancing around the house.
Katrillion: What kind of music did you like when you were younger?
Aaron: Hmm, probably like Jimmy Buffett and Journey and stuff like that. All old stuff!
Katrillion: Did your parents freak out when you told them you wanted to be a singer?
Aaron: No, well, I got in a band called Dead End and started singing with them. I guess I just sort of became a singer.
Katrillion: Are your other musical siblings supportive of your career?
Aaron: Oh, yeah. But they always ask me to bring, like, teddy bears and stuff back for 'em, so if I don't do that I'll get my butt kicked. [laughs]
Katrillion: What kind of advice do you get from Nick?
Aaron: Just watching Nick was advice for me. Because every time I would go to rehearsals with him he would [explain to me], 'This is what were doing now, we're doing choreography, [etc.]'
Katrillion: Cool. So let's talk about the new album. How would you say it's different from your last one?
Aaron: It's a lot more R&B and there's a lot of different party stuff in there. It's not all about love and stuff. It's more about parties.
Katrillion: I really like your song "Internet Girl." Do you get online a lot?
Aaron: Yeah, I go on it all the time
Katrillion: Do you keep in touch with your fans via the Internet?
Aaron: Oh, yeah. All the time.
Katrillion: Okay, so tell us who your favorite group is.
Aaron: I don't have a favorite group. If I had to pick anything, some kind of group, it would be 'NSYNC. And my brother would kill me if he heard that!
