Backstreet Boys Leave DA Out Of Sync

Erie County District Attorney Brad Foulk said he felt a little bit out of step on Friday.
He had driven back to Erie in the wee hours of the morning because the fans of the Backstreet Boys, the teen singing and dancing sensation, had prompted him to flee the hotel where had had been staying in Pittsburgh.
"The whole experience was like nothng I had ever seen," said Foulk, 53.
Foulk was staying in Pittsburgh for a district attorneys' conference that ended Thursday night. The Backstreet Boys played the Mellon Arena Thursday night and had another show Friday night. The band stayed at the same hotel where Foulk was lodging.
Foulk said he never saw the band. But he said he saw--and heard--plenty of the groupies.
"There were women, anywhere from 10 to 50 years old," Foulk said.
He wasn't able to rest. He wasn't able to sleep. So he checked out at midnight and drove back to Erie.
"It was overwhelming," said Foulk, a fan of doo-wop. "I had to leave immediately."
He listened to music on his way back home. Stuff from the 1950s and 1960s. Something relaxing.
"Soft rock," the DA said.
