Thank you for your article on the Backstreet Boys. I didn't realize that there were people behind the voices. Now that I've had a glimpse of what's inside their heads, I can respect them. I think they are fabulous singers, and I'll turn up my stereo to let the world know I now love them even more.

Not only are the BSB mature, but they do not try to mince words or keep their dating on the downlow so as not to lose fans or gain enemies. I thought they were "just another boy band" but they have proved me (and others) wrong by maintaining their fan base and pulling in older fans like myself (Hey, so what if I'm 24...that's old!) Thanks for featuring them. You've made me realize that they are not only cool, but they are also human. And Nick, it's OK if you beat off the most; the others are just jealous because they don't have your stamina.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that photo of all those women and the Backstreet Boys. My mouth dropped open in disbelief. Have you lost your minds? Rolling Stone, you really blew it this time. You just don't get it do you? The Backstreet Boys should have been naked! Next time, get it right.

Perhaps Rolling Stone should have put the Backstreet Boys on the cover of the Halloween issue. They look like stars in a bad horror movie about a genetic cross-bredding experiment gone terribly wrong-"the Village People meet Kiss."

AJ McLean smokes?! Kevin Richardson has one-night stands?! Nick Carter masturbates?! Oh...and they pose for pictures with naked women?! I guess they're rock stars now.

BSB and Bunnies
"This place is beautiful" marveled Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, taking a tour of the Playboy Mansion for the first time. "Ain't seen no cheetahs or monkeys yet, though." Uh, Nick, it's the mansion, not the Neverland ranch. Still, there were plenty of bunnies on view at the 19th Hold Players Party, held in honor of the finalists in the Playboy Scarbble golf tournament. Also on hand were No Doubt drummer Adrian Young and 3/5 of Incubus. "Golf and bowling are my 2 favorite sports" enthused B-boy AJ McLean, who says he normally shoots in the low 80's (sure, dude.) "But it's pathetic when you're hangin' out at a club, talkin' to a girl who likes sports. She'll be getting into you, then she's like 'What kinds of sports do you play?' And you're like 'Golf and bowling.' But when I say I like billiards, that usually gets me back into play!" That, and better than 10 million records sold.
