The plans include 10 gas fired megawatts units tooperate on peak demand. They discussed the amount of noise the units will create. Oneunit will create 65 decibels at 400 feet away from the unit. (A heat pump creates 75decibels) a noise expert will have to conduct a study. They also discussed the amount ofwater needed for the units. The units need 500 gallons of water per minute during operation. The water is used to reduce pollution and increase efficiency. They still have not found anadequate water source able to supply the amounts needed. There will be a small amountof nitrogen oxide omitted from the natural gas that is burned in the generators. The Akronlocation was picked to house 10 units because of the location of the gas transmission linesand the ability to connect to the sub-station.
