Troop Camper
Assists leadership in taking the girls on camping trips. Troop must have at least one certified camping adult on each camping trip, outing or sleepover. Must be willing to attend training.
The Troop Camper will assist the troop leadership in taking the girls on camping trips. We have tentatively scheduled a 1-night camping on April 25th. If the Troop Camper is unable to attend any camping event, it is their responsibility to secure other parents for the event.
The Troop Camper is required by council to take outdoor training courses. Module 1 - required for all trips. Module 2 – required for sleepovers/lock-ins. Module 3 – required if cooking (indoors or outdoors). Module 4 – required if sleeping in platform tents, cabins, or adirondacks. Module 5 – required if sleeping in tents set up by the troop.
The Troop Camper will ensure that the troop kit contains all items required for troop camping. If items are missing or if supplies are low, they will restock as needed. A list of the required items can be obtained from the Leader or from the handouts received during training.
Note: It is very important for a parent to take this training. If a leader is the only trained adult, the entire troop must leave camp with the leader if the leader is called away.
