Special Events chair

Facilitates the program implementation for special days and events in scouting. Orders and picks up recognitions from council. Notifies parents of events open to families. Coordinates decorations.

 

The Special Events Chair will facilitate the program implementation for Founder’s Day, Thinking Day, Girl Scout Sunday, Leader Appreciation Day, Court of Awards ceremonies, etc.

 

The Special Events Chair will coordinate decorations for the events mentioned above when required.

 

The Special Events Chair will pick up recognitions from the council store for all Court of Awards ceremonies.

 

The Special Events Chair will assist the Leader in presenting the recognitions in a creative manner. For example, the awards might be pinned to a felt trefoil, placed inside balloons, or attached to chenille stems and "planted" in flowerpots.

 

The Special Events Chair will notify parents of events open to families using articles in the monthly newsletter, email messages, or printed invitations.
