Usually this is a no brainer for me but last year I did as I usually do and stored my freshly harvested seeds in labeled sealed paper envelopes so I wouldn't lose any of them. To my horror, I found that most of them had gone moldy several weeks later. This has never happened before but he were going through an unbelievable heat wave at the time and the humidity was unbearable. Somebody once suggested storing freshly harvested seeds in open Dixie cups which is something I didn't want to do because I didn't want the cats knocking them over and mixing them up. This year I will do the Dixie cup method and find a way to keep the cats out.
I had to throw entire crosses out because of this. I allowed
the remainder of my seeds to dry in open envelopes. Only time will
tell as to what type of germination percentages I will get.
