WHERE TO WATCH

SLIMBRIDGE WWT

Slimbridge is situated about 30km north of Bristol on the banks of the river Severn and is the headquarters of the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust.

Slimbridge is famous for the Bewick Swans and White-fronted Geese which migrate to the reserve each winter from their breeding grounds in arctic Russia.

Reception and viewing facilities at Slimbridge are of course excellent and the reserve has many specially excavated pools and lagoons as well as natural habitat with plenty of hides and towers where you can watch the birds at close hand

Apart from the wild birds, there are enclosures where wildfowl from other parts of the world may be seen and studied.
