First recent breeding on the Leigh woods side. Four well-grown young were in the nest in early June. Unfortunately an intruder clubbed two of the young to death. The other two moved away and are thought to have fledged. No-one was caught or prosecuted for the offence. |

A pair in the gorge but not thought to have bred. |

A bird returned to the gorge. |

1945 - 1956 |
Occasionally in the gorge but no breeding occurred. A female was shot dead in the gorge on 9th April 1956. |

1920 - 1934 |
Bred in the gorge for all seven years, with the exception of 1933, all on the Clifton side. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Recent years have seen 44 young fledged from the Avon Gorge |
