Activities

(For a simple explanation see below for the break down of the children's daily routine.)

We sing O Canada to start off our day, then we have a circle time where children sing songs, learn what the date is by counting all the numbers of the month, then they learn the days of the week by what yesterday is, what today is, and what tomorrow will be?? We finish the circle by doing our phonics for what letter we're learning that week.

After circle time we have the children socialize with each other and freely play and some of the children are called over to a table to do a craft or to work on their special folder which includes learning tools for writing, colouring, numbers etc. this is introduced for the children in a fun creative way so there is no pressure to learn. Just experience!

Well then of course we have the children clean up after themselves so we can practice good hygiene and get ready for morning snack. The children then sit, enjoy a healthy snack and put their dishes away to get ready to go outside.

With this time of year it takes a little while to get all the children fully dressed for the weather. But once they are ready we go outside and enjoy the fresh air, and get our exercise that is much needed. If the weather doesn't cooperate with us there is a hall where the children can move around more and not be stuck in the same room all day long.

Lunch time.....Again the children must wash their hands before eating lunch, then they return to the classroom where our cook prepares a nutritious lunch.....the children just love to eat what our cook has prepared...she has a very fun way of presenting her menus.

Quiet time and Nap time...Usually the younger children will lie down listening to soft melodies on their cots and fall asleep. The older children do activities at the tables; this is usually free colouring, computer time and again working on their folders.

We strive to make the afternoon mimic the morning this way the children that are only in the afternoon half day programs get the same benefits as the children did in the morning. There are some miner differences so the children in the full day program don't get board and stay interested in what is happening.

We try to plan field trips such as going to the movies, going swimming, or just sledding down a hill near to the school. We like to explore with the children and have them feel comfortable with us taking them places so not everyday they are in the same classroom doing the same thing.

We have daily programs developed, and we design camps for preschoolers and school age children. Just contact us for more detail.

We strive to keep everyone happy......after all learning can be so much fun
