Ted Banks tbanks @  kraft.com After Bowen, I went to Beloit College where I met the wonderful woman who would become my wife, Cheryl Steinhardt.  From there we went to the University of Denver -- law school for me, and grad school for Cheryl.  Then back to the Chicago area (Highland Park) for a job in the Law Department of Kraft Foods, where I have worked on things like antitrust law, computers, mergers & acquisitions, and compliance for the last 30 years or so.  We have three fantastic daughters, Mimi (currently working in Paris for L'Oreal), Rebecca (teaching in Buffalo Grove) and Sarah (working in television production in Los Angeles). I've written a few really long law books, and my family members have broken the news to me that normal people consider these things I've written incredibly boring.  A weird thought occurred to me:  When we were are Bowen, what did we think about people who went there in the 1920's?  That's us now.
	Christie Bernier Mendelsohn [email protected] I am currently working as a school psychologist in Orland Park and as a forensic psychologist in Westmont. I recently remarried in Nov. of 2001 and have changed my name from Bernier to Halpin, now to Mendelsohn. I have a wonderful nine year old daughter and a superb new husband. We just returned from our belated honeymoon in Hawaii. I currently live in Burr Ridge and would love to see everyone at the reunion that Mitch is forming.
	Karen Burnstein Harness [email protected] I reside with my husband Gary in Bloomington, Illinois.  I am not working right now, but graduated from college two years ago.  The reason I am not working is the result of an automobile accident.  I do volunteer work at the nursing home my husband works.  The residents love when I bring our dog Duchess to visit them.  We also, have two cats.  My children live and work in the northern suburbs of Chicago.
	Randy Brett rpbrett  @  gmail.com We moved from Wilmette to Plainsboro, New Jersey in 1992 and have been living here ever since. A few years ago  I decided to change careers and do what I’ve always wanted to do – become a lawyer.  After three years of law school, I graduated last May and sat for the New Jersey and New York bar exams during the summer. I just received notification that I passed and will be sworn in as an attorney in a couple of weeks. Not bad for an old guy, if I do say so. Of course, I didn’t accomplish this alone. Without the support of my wife Debbie, our two children – Joshua (25) and Sharon (23) – and our fantastic family of friends up and down the East Coast, this would have been an impossible task.  So now I’m a practicing attorney specializing in labor and employment law with a “union-side” firm. Life is good.
	Ron Buzil [email protected] I live and work  in Evanston and play on Lake Michigan racing and cruising on my sailboat.  After college at UIC and a stint in the army in Korea, I've pretty much worked in real estate here in Chicago.  My wife, Debi, is an active musician, yoga instructor, and sailor.  My son, Asa, well... he's not a sailor yet, but he's just starting to put his hands in his mouth.  (he's 11 weeks old, Mar 03).  I regularly get together with several Bowen/Caldwell alumni and I welcome contact or news from any of my Bowen friends and classmates.
	David Chudwin [email protected] I was only a member of the Class of '68 for a year before moving to the south suburbs, but I enjoyed reading about some people I haven't seen in almost 35 years.  Before my freshman year at Bowen, I went to Caldwell.  I graduated from Rich Central H.S. (Olympia Fields)  and received my undergraduate and medical degree at the Univesity of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I trained in pediatrics and then allergy/immunology before returning to Chicago in 1982 on the faculty of Rush Medical College. I entered private practice 5 years later and now work with 3 other allergists in the Chicago suburbs. I married Claudia in l983 and have two children, Adam (17) and Stacy (15). We live in Lincolnshire IL.
	David Citron, III [email protected] My wife of 25 years Louise and I live in Newton, Massachusetts which is a suburb just west of Boston. Louise is from Massachusetts and we moved out here after I finished my doctorate at Purdue in 1979. We are both audiologists, and in 1982 started an audiology private practice just south of Boston in Weymouth.  We have two sons.  One is a junior at Harvard who is majoring in social studies and is looking at law schools. The other is a  junior in HS and is starting to look at colleges.  I have not lost my support for the White Sox, however, I have had season seats for the Patriots for the past five years and was lucky enough to go to Super Bowl XXXVI. GO PATS!!!
	Frank Conroy [email protected] I have been living in Byron, Illinois, (near Rockford) for the last 26 years. I recently became divorced (Empty Nest Related) and my children are all over 21 so my life has become very interesting. I am a school Principal and still come to the Chicago area quite often. I have maintained friendships with some of our "68"classmates. Many of you may have trouble remembering me because I went to Mendel until my Senior year when I transferred to Bowen.
	Larry Dalke [email protected] I'm a steelworker/musician /magician living in NorthBend, Washington (East of Seattle) with my Wife, Yvonne, and two children. Travis is in 8th grade. Heather is in 6th. Been havin' a great ride!

I am currently involved with managing the computer and telephone systems for a three state area for a financial organization called AXA Advisors (formerly Equitable). I am very proud of my son Matthew who is a double major in voice/opera and theater at University of Illinois in Urbana.  This year will be the first children's book I co-authored with my wife, called Merry Christmas, Everywhere!  This is due out in September of 2002.  I believe Amazon.com has a listing for it.  I have a web site that I made for my wife but haven't updated it for awhile. Have a collie and three cats and live in Morton Grove, Illinois.  Hope to see everyone for the 35th reunion!

	Marc Ginsburg [email protected] My wife, Janice, son, Brian and I live in Wilmette, Illinois.  I practice law and teach law in Chicago.  My wife is a marketing consultant and my son is a second year student at Yale University.
	Carol Gold Melnick [email protected] Living in Arlington Heights.  Working as a Business Systems Analyst for major corporation.  Daughter, Stacy, 21, is studying in Spain this semester.  Married son, Brian, 26, is in the Air Force and will be going to Northern England on assignment for 3 years.  Stepson, Keith and family are in Australia on work assignment.  Step-daughter, Marcy, has mercifully stayed in the area so that we can play at being grandparents on Sundays. Husband, Barry, and I truly believe we are a global family.
	Mike Greenberg [email protected] I have been appointed Director, Science and Technology for the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company (yes, the chewing gum kingdom which also includes antacids, candy etc!) with a staff of over 30 research and development scientists.  I have been with Wrigley for 20 years (was with Quaker Oats R&D for the previous 6 years)  After Bowen, I graduated from U of I Chicago with a BS in Chemistry and went into Grad School on a fellowship. I received a PhD in Chemistry and went to work at Quaker Oats. I married Judi in 1981,started my career at Wrigley, and moved to Northbrook, Illinois. We have a son, Rob, who is 16 and is a better trumpet player than I ever was.  Currently he is in varsity jazz band, concert band and is a better student than I was in Bowen!!  Judi is a "Trivial Pursuit" expert and has appeared on the game show "Jeopardy" three times placing first, second and third.  Recently, I have become very active in my synagogue and last year was named the Midwest Federation of Jewish Men's Club Man of the Year for my fund raising efforts. I coach youth basketball, and play on a 12" softball team that has been in the Northbrook Park District championship game for each of the last 5 years. Other hobbies include photography. My parents retired 20 years ago to San Diego and thus I am there at least 4 times a year. It almost feels like a second home. Next time there, I am going to look up Donald Larson!!!

Recent highlights in my life include a semester spent teaching overseas in Edinburgh, Scotland, August through December 2000 (took the whole family with!) and the publication of my second book, on American children's literature about Southeast Asia, in November 2000.  I'm currently working on two new books; one is on the science-fiction writer A. Merritt, and the other is a collection of essays on young-adult fantasy literature.
	Mitchell Markovitz [email protected] I live in Knox,central Indiana. Located seventy-two miles south-east of Chicago. I live with my wife Renee, and my two children, Julia (5) and Matthew (3.) I'm retired from the railroad after 30 years of service where I met Renee who was a passenger. I'm now a full time professional illustrator and artist. Julia joins me in the studio to draw and paint. Matthew loves trains and walks around with his own railroad watch and overalls. Renee just looks at us and shakes her head. I'm now organizing the 35th Reality Reunion and Homecoming for our Bowen '68 class. I'd like to hear from all of you interested in attending or assisting me.
	Marcia Mayeroff Sacks [email protected] www.marciasacks.com I'm an astrologer, writer, and meditation teacher.  I live in the NW suburbs of Chicago with my husband Rich.  My older son Mike is a teacher at Hoffman Estates High School and my younger son David is a freshman at University of Illinois in Champaign.
	Barry Mellovitz [email protected] I went into the Army after Bowen, then finished College at Circle and Yeshiva at Telshe Yeshiva - Chicago Branch, which is on Foster and Drake. I married a Danish girl, but we do not have children. My last venture was patenting a new drug and developing a Transgenic mouse facility for Abbott labs. I now am on disability and Miriam and I are in Phoenix, AZ.
	Robert N. Odelson [email protected] After Bowen  I went to NIU and received a BA in Philosophy. I then went into Nuclear Medicine technology and moved to San Diego ,CA. in 1977. I moved into management in 1980 and got my MPA in 1983. That year I also married Susan, my wife who is a graphic designer. We have one very young son who is 10 years old. I currently work for Kaiser Permanente the HMO out here, as a Clinical Systems Engineer. I actually visit Chicago on a frequent basis for the radiology conference that is on in late November each year.
	Marvin Rubenstein [email protected] I received my doctorate in microbiology from the University of Illinois Medical Center and am currently the Director of Research and Chairman of the Division of Cellular Biology at the Hektoen Institute for Medical Research in Chicago.  In addition to my responsibilities at Hektoen I am also on the faculty at Rush Medical College and also at IIT.  My interests include the development of new types of drugs to treat those with advanced cancers of the prostate or breast.  I hold two US patents for these agents.  My wife and I reside in Northbrook.  Our interests include travel, photography, skiing and race cars.
	Doug Schwartz [email protected] I've been married to Cyndee Schaffer since 1975, almost 27 years.  We have three children, Matthew 23, Ariel 18, and Jordan 15.  Ariel is a freshman at Northwestern, and Jordan is a sophomore at Glenbrook North in Northbrook.  I have been a staff architect for Walgreens for nearly 23 years, primarily designing stores in Florida and Puerto Rico.  Next time you take your kids and grandkids to the Museum of Science and Industry, go by Yesterday's Main Street, and see the recreation of the first Walgreens store that I designed.  My parents still live in Hyde Park, so we do get to the south side on a regular basis.  Our oldest child, Matthew, is confined to a wheel chair, and as a result, all of our summer vacations have been driving trips with our handicap van.  We finally finished our tour of all 48 states as a family, and have all of the state magnets on our refrigerator as proof!!  Reading all of the other mini bios, just confirms how varied all of our lives are and the many paths we have travelled.
	Dina (Debbie) Switt Krause [email protected] Well, I live in Skokie with my husband George (who went to South Shore...), our wonderful 13 year old daughter (Sydnie) and our two crazy cats. Job wise - I am a manager of a great bookstore, Books-A-Million and am home based at the store in Niles. I do a lot of traveling for them, as they have 209 stores in 19 states. This position is relatively new, having recently been laid off from United Airlines... When I’m not working I run Science Fiction Conventions. I’m the only person to have chaired two local Chicago Conventions, Windycon and Capricon. I am also very active on the Worldcon scene and will be launching a bid for ‘Chicago in 2009’, at the Toronto World Convention in Sept. 2003.
