This Indenture made this thirtieth day of September eighteen hundred and six Between Cave Johnson of the County of Boone and State of Kentucky of the first part and John Taylor of the County of Galitin [sic] & State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth: Whereas the said Cave Johnson stands bound unto the said John Taylor in the sum of one thousand dollars to be paid on or before the twenty fifth day of December 1811 by bond bearing date even with the date of these presents now the Indendure Witnesseth that for securing the payment of the said // one thousand dollars and for the further consideration of five shillings current money on paid the receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bergain Sell alien & Confirm unto the said John Taylor a certain tract or parcel of Land lying in the said County of Boone on the Ohio river and bounded as following to wit, Beginning at a large Honey Locust and Situated on the Bank of the Ohio being the lower Corner of John Bushes tract of land whereon he now lives and upen [sic] Corner to the tract of land wheron the said Cave Johnson now lives, running thence South five West, one hundred and twenty three poles to a Boxelder & Buckeye Corner also to said Bush. Thence South seven West one hundred and fifty poles to a Hickory on McDaniels line thence South seventy two West along said McDaniels line, & from the Beginning down the so far that a line running from the said south seven west to said McDaniels line or Joness will include the quantity of two hundred acres to said John Taylor and to his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only use & behoof forever Provided neverthe less and it is the true intent and meaning of these -- // Presents and the parties hereunto that should the said Cave Johnson pay or cause to be paid unto the said John Taylor or to his heirs or assigns one thousand on or before the said 25th day of December in the year 1811 agreeable to and in discharge of the before mentioned bond without any deduction or abatement then this Indenture & every thing therein contained shall be null & void any thing therein contained to the Contrary notwithstanding In Testimony whereof the said Cave Johnson hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written Signed and Acknowd. in Presence of
