The intention, or goal, of Learn A Skill is to promote the learning of secondary skills and to offer resources to those who are looking to supplement an existing income or pick up a skill to do in their spare time. The goal here was to bring in content that provided a quick gateway to the resources needed to learn such skills or obtain a certification in a specific skill. I made sure to provide information about some of the most common certifications/skills in demand, provided navigational links to websites where freelance work can be found, and offered to be notified via email when freelance opportunities open up.
The websites design is modeled to be simple. It was setup to be easy to use and navigate with basic colors to help identify key areas of the site while not being overwhelming. The forms were created to be straight foward and easy to complete. The typography, or font, of the website was chosen for its legibility to ensure ease of reading for anyone using the site. Each page was designed in a way that made it easy to determine the pages use, with notable headings that explain the pages purpose.
The site is currently a small hub to provide simple yet releveant information to users about secondary skill choices. In the future, designing the site in a way that actually incorporates small courses on specific skills and providing testing options for users would be extremely beneficial. Providing better financial data in a more intuitive way is also a future goal for the site. The end goal for the site would be to make it a place to come and work through the process of obtaining certification or any other needed credentials for a skill in one place.
