Jay and Kelly Thomas, Ethen, Lauryn and Hannah's (1st) Christmas letter 2007.
Greetings everyone! I hope all is well with you and your families. We are all doing well. I would like to start by introducing the newest Thomas. Hannah Lorraine was born Sep 6, 2007. She is now 3 months old and doing great. Ethen was my screamer, Lauryn was my sleeper, and Hannah falls somewhere in betweenJ She has really fit in well and the kids love her so much.
As for the rest of usJay is still an instructor here in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was officially made a flight commander March 1st, although he had been doing it for a while prior. He continues to work on his MBA, which should be complete in a few months and relieve some pressure. He was selected as the squadrons FCF pilot, so soon he will get to test all of the jets after they go through major maintenance. We have not decided yet but we may ask for a short extension here, to get the kids through next year in school so we would move summer 09. If not we will be moving next year around Nov or Dec. Jay looks forward to getting back to the F-16.
Ethen started 1st grade and is doing pretty good now. He had a rough start mostly due to the addition of Hannah. He was acting out at school and at home and we realized he wanted more of my attention. We have adjusted and Im trying to give him as much as I can. He started karate in September, and really likes it. After trying t-ball and soccer he seems to like this the best. The only bad thing is that it lasts an entire year, which means he may get sick of it. I only allow them to do one activity a semester so this is all he gets. We talked about it before he signed up so hopefully all will go well. Ethen will be a singing sheep along with the rest of the 1st grade in an upcoming school play. This will be his first one and Im so excited.
Lauryn started pre-K in September and really likes it. She has finally learned her alphabet! She is learning Spanish and loves music. She does shows for us all the time and I must say she is quite the performer. After doing dance last year she decided to do gymnastics this year. She has a hard time sitting still and listening to her teachers but she is only 4. She is very "girly" and always wants to wear dresses and have her nails painted. She enjoys changing her clothes several times a day mostly because she is messy and doesnt like to be dirty. Although she enjoys playing in the dirt and seems to find the dirtiest places outside she can. To say the least, my laundry basket is always full!
It has been great having both the kids gone during the day for a little while. Hannah and I have gotten to bond and it doesnt take a lot of time away from Ethen and Lauryn when they are home. With Lauryn starting school I have gotten a lot busier and feel like I work fulltime driving everyone around to their activities. Its a good thing Hannah likes her car seat. I am in 2 carpools, which help a lot. Besides being a fulltime mommy my life is pretty mellow. Im trying to get back into my scrap booking but with 3 there is a lack of time!
Other news from the Thomas front In August we bought a new mini van! I know nothing exciting but I have really gotten to like it. We can fit everyone in, even the dogs, and still have lots of room. It has been great for carpooling. The 4-runner just got too small. We also got a new dog in March. Ginger is a miniature Australian Sheppard and has been a great addition to our family. She is Samsons (our Golden retriever) new play toy.
We hope you all have a fantastic Christmas. Remember to stop and thank the Lord for sending his Son to us so that we may have eternal life. Enjoy all that he blesses us with and we wish you a very Merry CHRISTmas.
Because of Him,
Jay, Kelly, Ethen, Lauryn, and Hannah
