This vehicle, like most Series Land Rovers, has a long and clouded history. I have researched the previous owners a bit and have collected some of this vehicle's history. Poppy Red originally, it was purchased new in New York state. It somehow ended up parked in a barn in North Carolina for ten years during the eighties. It was rescued from there, refurbished a bit and painted green in order to be used as a hunting vehicle. Sadly, the hunter passed away before ever taking it into the woods. It was sold to a company that rented off-road vehicles to tourists in the North Carolina mountains, but probably never used for that purpose. It was offered as partial trade for a Carawagon sold in Kingsport, TN- which is where I found it.
I have chosen to concentrate on the mechanical problems before improving the vehicle aesthetically. Since the mechanical problems were numerous, I have yet to begin painting, straightening, and generally restoring the vehicle to a more attractive state. Though truth be told- I think it looks pretty cool just like it is.
There are many great Series Land Rover web sites on the net- check out my links page.
