" mirror mirror on the wall, who's the fattest of them all? "

Did you find the quote above funny? Well, you might have, but that is a big question that teenagers today have in their mind.This is a very common question asked by teenagers. Everyday, they might look into the mirror and classified themselves as being fat, or comment on their body shapes as being not perfect. In a teenagers point of view, their body shape is one of the major issues that concern them during their everyday life.

Eating Disorders affects thousands of teenagers in Australia; female and male. Almost one in every hundred adolescent females and one in every three hundred adolescent males suffer from a kind of eating disorders. They are psychological disorders where dieting, eating behaviour and thoughts about body shape and weight become a distressing focus of ones life.

Eating disorders are divided into 3 major lifestyle diseases.
* Anorexia
* Bulimia
* Binge Eating

All three of these can lead to serious health complication and can negatively impact on a persons mood and self-esteem.
Nobody chooses to develop eating disorders; its causation is usually complex and multi-factorial. The illness can become entrenched and habitual and can be very difficult to overcome.
