Some of my memories of Blythwood:
When I think of my years at Blythwood School I remember people like Miss Heddle, our first grade teacher, who was as diminutive as her small students or Mr. Freestone who loved to sing "Onward Christian Soldiers" at the top of his voice at Friday assemblies. I remember when the Parents Association raised the money to buy large, framed prints of Group of Seven paintings for the Assembly Hall... and bouncing lacrosse balls at recess. But the real memories are of Jimmy Armour and the plays we put on... particularly the one featuring the Queen of Tarts (Joan Carruthers and Norman Rice)... Patsy Rice's red hair, Louise Sheppard's artistic talent - Shirley Dolphin's too - and my neighborhood friends like Nancy Chandler, Margie Newman, Mollyann Clappison, Eva Kemenny, Margaeret Isobel Casson, Ruth Ann Wright, Sheila Gooding and so many, many more.Barbara (Appleton) Reid
