I am interested in all Blosser research, but especially descendants and ancestors of David Blosser and Elizabeth McBroom.  I am also looking for any Blossers near or in Wood County, Virginia (now Wirt, West Virginia) from 1810 to 1840.

David was born on April 16, 1823, in Elizabeth, Wood County, Virginia. We are not sure who his parents were, but both the 1820 census and the 1830 census list a Jacob Blosser and a Henry Blosser.  If you know anything about these families, please contact me.

At some point, David moved to Hocking County, Ohio.  David and Elizabeth were married July 27, 1843, by John Weltner, a Justice of the Peace in Hocking County, Ohio.  Some documents say that John Weltner was David's cousin.  "The History of Hocking County" lists John Weltner's mother as Mary (Blosser). Is this David's aunt? John Weltner's wife Elizabeth Beery also had Blosser cousins living nearby.  Maybe she is related as well.

David and Elizabeth moved to Vermillion County, Illinois, in 1861.  It was here that David signed on to fight in the Civil War.  In 1867, the family moved to Holton, Jackson County, Kansas, where David and Elizabeth spent the remainder of their years.
