What can only be described as a wonderful weekend is now at an end.
On Friday evening 71 Brethren and ladies enjoyed a very successful Welcome Function with great food and wonderful fellowship in the Musgrave Room at the Robertson Gardens with many old friendships being renewed and new friendships commencing. Most Worthy Brother Ian was presented with a very interesting pair of Monitor Jiggers from the Brethren of V W Martin Conclave to the mirth of all..
Saturday saw the Installation of Right Worthy Brother Reginald James Matthews as Grand Supreme Ruler of this jurisdiction for the 2008-2009 Monitor Year by Most Worthy Brother Ian Christopher Wylde and the Installing Team wonderfully led by Very Worthy Brother Brian Newton who during the Ceremony was elevated to the rank of Past Grand Guide by Most Worthy Brother Ian.
This was carried out at the Comfort Inn & Suites Robertson Gardens at Kessels Road, Robertson in the the presence of over 150 Brethren, ladies, Master Masons and friends who filled the Musgrave Room to make a wonderful spectacle for all to enjoy.
From the Masonic fraternity twelve orders were represented including Grand Mark, Grand Chapter and the United Grand Lodge of Queensland. The heads of each of the four other Secret Monitor jurisdictions in Oceania were present each being supported by Brethren from their Jurisdiction.
Whilst the staff set up the Musgrave Room drinks and finger food was enjoyed in the Kessels Room by the 114 who were to attend the Grand Installation Banquet .
The Grand Installation Banquet saw great food, great comradery and wonderful music (provided by John Masson) which made for a delightful evening where the usual Toasts were proposed and honoured and Right Worthy Brother Rex Williams presented Most Worthy Brother Ian with a feather duster for his personal use.
Sunday morning saw 61 Brethren, ladies and friends depart Robertson Gardens in buses to travel to the boat ramp at Fisherman Island where morning tea accompanied by goodies cooked by Jean McElligott and Margaret Benham was enjoyed by all.
We were then joined by Peter and Andy from the Port of Brisbane Corporation who gave us an excellent tour of the Port of Brisbane Facility which left all amazed at the progress in this area.
It was then on by the tourist route of Wynnum, Manly, Lota and Wellington Point that we travelled to the Redlands Sporting Club where all enjoyed a wonderful buffet lunch.
Well content we then proceeded via Raby Bay and Cleveland Point back to Robertson Gardens where farewells took place and all returned to their homes or motel rooms. A great time was had by all.
Most Worthy Brother Reg wishes to thank all who participated in the several functions and wishes you all well.
When we invited all to attend we said
