Introduce Ourselves (John Ferguson)

Strike Up The Band (music by Ben Fulton/lyrics by Ben and John)

There's trouble around the yellow sun
The world's revolving, but alas...nobody's home
The believers are few and far between
And whether we prevail, remains to be seen

So strike up the band tell where you stand
Say whatever you want to
So long as you say it with style
You never thought you'd ever have
So much to do with so little time

The airwave's watering everything down
The ears are weary of everything they hear
You want revolution of the true worldmind?
C'mon people, let your nerd flag fly

And we don't know the meaning of this meme
We're just here to do our job and propagate
And representing in full effect, perhaps we will
Stumble across something great

So strike up the band tell where you stand
Say whatever you want to
So long as you say it with style
You never thought you'd ever have
So much to do and so little time

Tonight we'll let the world know what is common sense
And all the differences between right and wrong
We're not here to raise the world up with self defense
We just want to lift the worldmind in song

Plastic (Danny Coy)

No wishful thinking could break through my shell
So save your whining to waste on someone else

La la la la la la la la la la

You'll lose no numbers inside of my head
I'm built of plastic, I'll light up your bed

La la la la la la la la la la

You send me reeling and smash my windows
I send for doctors to repair my nose

La la la la la la la la la la

I Know You're There (Bryan Gore/lyrics by John Ferguson...it's about a stalker)

Follow me downtown to the Louvre
You'd follow me that way to the moon
I noticed your secret in your stare
You're coming up faster, I'm not there, nowhere

I know you're there waiting around
Behind the chair calmly quietly watching me

We returned your letter yesterday
You know you can't touch me that way
You're coming round faster there's no doubt
There's more than me matters, go find out, find out

I know you're there waiting around
Behind the chair calmly quietly watching me

Modern Woman (Bryan Gore)

She is no subject of the king
She is the subject of no one
She will not bow to kiss his ring
That is not her idea of fun

Cause she's a modern, modern, modern, modern,
modern, modern, modern, modern woman
Living in a medi, medi, medi, medi,
medi, medi, medieval time

She won't set foot inside a dungeon
She says, "Jousting is so passe."
She's really the one that started the reformation
But that's not what the history books say

You think Joan of Arc is cool
Well, she needs to go back to school
Where do you think she learned it all from?
She's a modern woman
Living in a medieval time
And you know that can't be fun

Don't Call it a Comebacharach (Jeremy Midkiff/lyrics by John Ferguson...it's about a girl who loves pop music)

I lost my way, coming home from work one day
I fell into the hands of Renee
She played "Egg Nog Ponds" for me and I cried
We talked all day, making sense of Beckett's play
Yes, nice, please, thanks, go away
Yes, I'm tired, but I think I will stay

I thought it was a dream
And I knew she was for me
But I wondered how I should step
To her, the girl with hella rep
I've got it now, I'll play hip-hop and pop

I said, we lost all hope when we lost our soul
Cuz me and Renee, we gotta big fresh flow
I said, we're coming down hard and we'll throw it right back
So don't front and try to call it a comebacharach
She got me feelin' right now like an old school sound
Tearin' up all the kids on memetic new ground
Cuz we're travelin through time
Me and Renee online!

ButI thought it was a dream
And I knew she was for me
But it didn't take more than a few
Before we knew what we would do
Renee and me, buck wild all afternoon

Je ne c'est quoi and that certain ennui
How do you say that Renee is the one for me?

Tiger Woods (Danny Coy/lyrics by Jeremy Midkiff...it's about digital vs. analog love)

I can still recall the days
When our souls were analog
With no straight lines
You took me to a safer place
Where edges cut us cleaner
How cool is that?

I wanna know just how long this thing can last
You're digital glow has left me here without a past
So you say you love me new, am I mystical enough for you?
Gotta change my mind too

Will you still remember me when there's nothing left?
Will you still remember me when there's nothing left?

I can see with clarity
What this change has done to me
Has it changed you?
I need to redefine myself
Replace it with another self
I stop to start

And now I know just how long this thing can last
Digital glow has blinded my eyes from my past
So you say you love me new, am I mystical enough for you?
Gotta change mymind too

Will you still remember me when there's nothing left?
Will you still remember me when there's nothing left?

No Guarantees (John Ferguson...about existentialist themes in Russian literature)

No pernicious design could decide your security
It's all good to me, I wouldn't try to change that thing
No inadequate find will transpire to the front of me
It's all good to me, I wouldn't try to change that thing

So I reach for the sky, it's too high
I won't ever reach you
So I talk to the moon, not too soon
It's not worth it chile
So I talk to the son, he's no fun
He just says the same thing
You'll never find what your looking for

No intangible mind could define all the entropy
Want to live with me, I wouldn't try to change that thing
Grab a visible sign to design all reality
Try and handle me, I wouldn't try and change that thing

So I reach for the sky, it's too high
I won't ever reach you
So I talk to the moon, not too soon
It's not worth it child
So I talk to the son, he's no fun
He just says the same thing
You'll never find what you're looking for

Sexual, Kentucky (Bryan Gore) instrumental

Lost and Found (John Ferguson)

Turn around, lost and found
Hold me down, lost and found
Here's a day, go away
So I'll stay for the day

Spread the meme, sell the dream
Steal the show, set them free
Here's the thing, now you know
We can be anything we want to be

Let's all play, let's go today
For the summer

The birds will sing with laughter and the
Children fall and dance under the window sill
The crowds wake up together as we
Push on to forever, international feel
The people work it out into a
Plague of overkindness, yes they stop to feel
They celebrate the new day all the while
The children still play, so what's the deal?

2199 (Jeremy Midkiff)

In the year 2199
Planet Earth didn't have friends to call its own
Or light too much to see

But in the spring of 2199
Planet Earth had a strange encounter with a ship
A space ship, from who knows what place
And when Earth got a message from them
This is what it said....

In the year 2199
Planet Earth tried to talk to its new friends
Without a way to get the point through

But in the fall of 2199
Planet Earth became dissillussioned with the thought
Of one day making progress
But then Earth got a message from them
And this is what it said....

Take out the bad stuff, people its time
Turn off your t.v., 2199.

Jesus Christ (Jeremy Midkiff/lyrics by Jeremy and John)

Jesus Christ was born to set the world afire
His days were all laid out for him
His dad made him die on the cross
His mom made him without a dad

He walked out on the water
He stepped out on the storm
He made the deaf to hear his song
He tapped into the worldmind
And taught the world to sing
And how do you think he got it going
And how do you think we'll keep it going on
Without a lamb to die for us?
And we've just figured out that the lamb is really us
And we're lucky to be alive.

Sleep (Ben Fulton...a lullaby of sad happiness)

All readings tell me that everything's ok
But my best friend is still a million miles away
Don't worry about me
There's so much else to do and to see

Our hero has gotten ahead of herself again
Unsure if she should continue or just give in
Don't acquiesce so easily
You're so beautiful, why can't you see?
Did you know that, Audrey?

For all we know, it's all a show
That someone can watch and then fall asleep
It's ok, don't be afraid
Go on, act out your play
Until you fall asleep.

(repeat until crickets)

thanks a million. i just went on the radio here in lex today to promote the new album. i've sent out fifty or so promos to college radio around the country. ten or so magazines for review, we'll see who bites and who bites. i learned to mix and record like that from years of four tracking. just doing it and redoing it until it sounded the way we wanted it to. thanks for noticing. most people don't care about that stuff, but that was the stuff that took us the most time and effort. lyrics....i'll post them as i remember them.
