Depending on the website, I think some might possibly be enhanced by music; e.g., dream analysis, poetry, fanciful or upbeat, "hip" topics, etc. On the other hand, music is generally inappropriate for business sites unless perhaps the music is specific and meaningful to the site. Furthermore, I believe some people could be startled or even embarrassed (if they are at work) by unexpected music.
It is my opinion that most people are irritated by music not of their choosing playing in a repetitious loop while they are trying to view the information on their screen. The worst scenario is a page with automatic music to which the viewer must return repeatedly, only to to met with the same tune over and over again and no way to turn it off!
