Could
Yancy be a modern Athena with the humble voice of the Earth itself?
Maybe.
I think that's what gives her her humility.
And
it also explains her other two strengths, her eyes and her hair.

I
love Yancy Butler, she so talanted and beautiful!!! I think your site for
her is really gorgeous, it´s so cool - keep up the good work!

Not
only is she beautiful, but she's smart, talented, and, above all, strong.
Too
many actresses these days cannot project strength like Ms. Butler can.
Oh
yeah, and what a pleasant surprise: she's had firearms training! That came
as
a
very welcome shock, when I read that on your site. Wow.
Now,
I'm not a very big fan of actresses. I'm a sci-fi freak, Star Trek specifially,
so it shouldn't surprise
one
when I say that the only actor that I'm a big fan of is Avery Brooks
(Captain Benjamin Sisko).
Yancy
Butler is someone I wish I would have known of earlier. I could see her
playing a ST villain
in
the Mirror Universe (which is a pretty tough place), or a maverick Starfleet
captain. (Maverick=started
out
as an enlisted, moved up through the ranks of noncoms until Officers' Training,
to make captain.)
A
great scene would be her, standing on the bridge, standing between the
Federation and the
Klingons,
Cardassians, Romulans, etc., ready to make Earth's final stand, ramrod
straight,
fairly
vibrating with intensity, with that look on her face.
You
know the one. The one one that should make the Borg, if they were bright,
run
right back to the Delta Quadrant to their mommas. Fast.
I think
Yancy Butler Rocks, and it's her strength that got me. She's also
tough,
sweet, funny, and expressive. The woman has so much intensity that it
roils
off of her onscreen. I'd love to see what she's like off-screen. Wow!
what
a woman. :)

"I
just saw "The Witness Files", last week, but what can you say about an
amazing actress such as her,
that
hasn't already been said anyways?"
Isn't
it amazing how the bigshots in Hollywood could overlook such an actress?
But then again, not surprising.
They
like to have their Nicole Kidmans, Annette Benings, and Kathy Bakers close
by.
But
I'm an optomist. Perhaps Yancy's long awaited stardom will happen with
"Witchblade", perhaps not.
I
certainly hope so. I'd love nothing more than to hear her name constantly
on CNN.
Or
see a promo for a new movie she is doing.
Now
on to other things. Maybe Yancy's bank statement wasn't on the keel she
would like when she accepted to do
the
shoot for the "Witchblade" series. Maybe it was, or even better, only she
knows. I'd like to think that she is doing just
fine,
thank you. Maybe not as good as she deserves to be, but just fine nontheless.
Yes, she deserves to have her
name
up in lights. And I'm certain she will. You can only overlook her kind
of talent for just so long."

About Witchblade
and Yancy...
This show has some potential. Not much, but there is a gem or two in the rough. The first gem is obviously Yancy Butler.
Her performance is one of the only reasons that I watch this show; I can't praise it enough. Yancy is urbane
enough to play a New York Homicide Detective, and can help the audience suspend its disbelief just enough son
that they don't change the channel. Fortunately, she can handle the supernatural almost as well as the mundane.
Tough, sexy, and quite vulnerable, she probably has what it takes to become a breakout female action star.
She also is rather interesting looking, and fortunately not anorexic. Yancy can also put the spin on some of the most
ordinary lines given to her. During the trial episode, where Sara encounters three different former incarnations of herself,
Yancy is able to make each one subtly different from each other and her Sara character.
Even in the worst episodes, Yancy is watchable. In fact, I doubt anyone would watch this show or make
such a fuss about it here if it weren't for her. She is great, the show isn't.
It is a moral wrong, perpetrated by TNT and the production staff, to keep stars with obvious potential like Yancy Butler
away from good material and fresh stories.
