Panisucs has lived with me since 1995. Previously she lived in a large house of five women, two cats and two dogs. When the house disbanded early 1995, her 'owner' had moved to India and was unable to be contacted. Thus, Paniscus (then known as Meow Meow) moved in with me.
As you can see she does not take photos well, in the past 11 years I do not have one photo that is particularly flattering (including this one).
The name change came about by the need to shift a focus on her tendency to live up to her name; that is of meowing alot. 'Panicus' is a reference to the Bonobo (Pygmy Chimpanzee), more specifically its scientific nomenclature Pan Paniscus. The interest in the Bonobo comes from a 'previous life' when I was a keen primatologist and sought a career as such. But unfortunately this interest has simply remained as such.
