California's Route 153

     Route 153 is from Route 49 near Coloma to Marshall's Monument.  [CS&HC Sec. 453]



      A single route shield marks Route 153.  A sign below it identifies it (erroneously) as
California's Shortest State Route.



      This route will take you to the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park, where in
1848 gold was discovered and started the California Gold Rush.



Route 49 to Marshall's Monument:  California Legal (40-foot KPRA).



      Route 153 runs on Marshall Park Way.  At 0.50 miles, Route 153 is the second shortest
route in the state highway system, behind Route 283.
