Ship's Log
(Nov 1, 2004 Houston Texas)
Working away
on La Trucha (may have forgotten to mention earlier, La Truchcha means The
Trout in Spanish). Yesterday I got started on putting in some eye
splices on double braided rope. It's no simple thing, that's for sure.
The day before that I put in a three strand splice for the anchor. It
took awhile but the final product looks pretty good if I say so myself.
Jimmy has been working on computer related stuff, and taking an inventory of
existing stores aboard the boat. Jim, Senior is still working on
diesel generator installation. We're also getting geared up to make a
major shopping spree at some local Sam's. Three people working hard
aboard a sailboat can go through a lot of food.

Today a big
cold front is moving through the area, with lots of wind, rain and thunder
boomers. Business around here on this rainy Monday will most likely be
muted. Yet to see what we're up to today. More splicing I
suppose. Given enough practice I'm going to get good at it.
Signing
off early
Monday morning in Brazoria Texas; just Maggie the dog and me in an apartment
below the skipper's apartment, with LaTrucha tied up about 200 feet away.
