Hey gals, welcome to our swanky spa! How important is it for y'all to look good?
Cathy Very much - especially now we're being recognised in the streets a lot more.
Kelly Yeah, we're more conscious of how we look now. When I go down town with no make-up on and someone spots me, I just feel twice as bad. I run and hide!
Yikes! Do y'all wear make-up even when you're not working?
Ciara Yep, I wear it all the time.
Kelly Me, too! I've been wearing make-up since I was a teenager so now I hate the way I look without any on.
Tara Plus it's a real confidence boost when you wear it!
Have you picked up any beauty tips from the professionals?
Cathy After I've put foundation on, I wait a while to put the powder over cos it seems to suit me skin.
Kelly Always take yer make-up off at night!
Tara Blend your foundation or you'll end up with a orange mark around your neck. That's not a good look!
What about eyeliner? That's really tricky to put on!
Kelly It is! I could never put it on before but now I know how! If you're right handed then when you line your right eye, go from inside corner of your eye to your outer corner and when you're doing your left eye, go from the outer corner to your inside corner! Try it, it makes it so much easier!
Ever had any beauty disasters?
Ciara I used to wear really dark make-up. I had dark eyes and lips and looked like a goth!
Kelly It's not really a disaster but this is quite funny. I once saw my brother in town when I wasn't wearing any make-up - and he didn't recognise me!
Oh no! Any other stories?
Ciara When my friend was five she put nail varnish on her eyelids! It dried like glue and she had to go to hospital (Don't try this at home, folks!)
Kelly I went to school with this girl who used to put concealer on her whole face. It was so thick that it'd crack when she smiled!
