What a month for me!  Lots of overtime work at the hotel since we are seriously understaffed there.  I've been working for 14.5 days straight.  Although I'm typing this on my long awaited 2-days off, I've still got a lot of things to do & no time to relax or update this site.  I've got to see an optometrist to get get my eyes check, which I haven't done for 2 or 3 years now, open a business bank account for my small anime mail order store site, do the paperwork for the anime store, get a haircut, etc.

But during my little free time, I managed to go out & buy some trading figures to complete some of my incomplete sets.  Completed my SHUFFLE! trading figure set with the missing secret & added 1 more figure to my Suigetsu Palm Characters set.  I brought 2, but 1 of them is a double.

In PSP news, firmware version 2.7 has been released not too long ago.  The important thing about it is the flash support for web browsing.  However, it's not a good one since I've been hearing how it doesn't have enough memory to view the flash contexts on websites; mainly the application & game ones.  With this firmware, you can play a new PSP game demo of LocoRoco which was released a couple of days ago.  The demo is downloadable at this site.  Once you download it, you can play it on your PSP.  This feature from the 2.7 firmware may show signs of the features of the upcoming PS1 emulator for the handheld system.

Hopefully, I can continue to get my 2-days off so I can do some updating on this site.  I want to put up some more reviews, particularly anime ones since I've seen a lot of them.  Plus, I want to get some PSP game reviews up. But I think they won't be of any help to most people since they are now old.  Updates will most likely come next month.

Updates have been lacking here for a lot of reasons.  Need to do sales for my anime business, tamago-toys, & do some taxes for it (tax season), & a hectic work schedule at the hotel I'm working at.  I'm working 6 days a week right now since we are seriously understaffed there & high season is approach very soon.  And I use my 1 day off to do some work on my small business or relax.  That's the reason for the slow updates.  Life has been a bitch for me lately.  Hopefully, you people are enjoying your Easter weekend though.

Not too long ago, I went to my favourite Japanese hobby store & picked up some Figumate Rumble Roses Trading Figures.  I didn't get a complete set from 1 inner box, which was quite strange.  I got the secret/rare figure, but I'm missing 1 normal figure.  It's the white version of Rose.  I probably hunt for it next time when I actually get the time too.

In anime news, Black Lagoon has been licensed by Geneon Entertainment & Tactics is licensed to Manga Entertainment.  And speaking of anime, I hope to get some reviews up here sometime this month.  I have been watching a number of new shows, but I haven't got the time to write reviews for them since writing reviews take time.  Also, I need to do some PSP game reviews.  I got most of my games when they were released, but never got too much time to play some of them or make reviews as well.  Too much time take away from my work life.

Another month gone for the year.  You can find March's Past News in the Past News Achieve now.

Not too long ago, I found a trailer to the anime Kanon.  Some of you may know that Kanon has been shown as an anime back around 1999 or so.  However, it's being remade by Kyoto Animation; the same studio that did the anime TV series AIR.  Watching the trailer, it's way much different than the old Kanon anime.  In fact, I think it's more dramatic.  The old Kanon was said by Kanon game fans that it was a disappointment since it didn't have KEY's elements.  In fact, it had a happy ending which isn't KEY's style.  Although I didn't play the game, I would have to agree it was a disappointment.  After seeing a lot of good things from AIR & the Kanon trailer, I'm hyped up to see this remake.  The anime is scheduled to be aired on Fall 2006.

Recently, work has been hell.  From my understanding, a co-worker of mine got the boot for making too many mistakes recently at work.  Plus his rudeness to guests & clients came back as complaints.  The manager & him got into a fight & the union got involved.  Anyways, when he ditched work, I had to take his place & worked overtime.  Until we get another guest service agent, I have to work 6 days a week.  Hopefully someone will come in soon.  Another hell problem is the hotel's airport shuttle service.  Because of it's limited schedule that runs from 6AM to 9:30PM, I get a lot of complaints.  Because they miss the shuttle from the airport, I have to tell them to get a taxi to come here & sometimes I tell them they have to pay for it when they ask about it.  Of course, I get pissed off hearing the same complaints over & over again & get childish name calling.  They do this because they either:

  1. Get mislead from the travel agents/companies, or 3rd party bookings, such as Hotels.com, with wrongful information
  2. Don't bother asking the hotel when making the reservation or looking at our website
  3. They really don't know about it
  4. They actually know about it & just want to be jerks pretending they don't & try to get some sort of discount or benefit from it.

Personally, I too think that's a lousy schedule & feel for those people.  But they don't need to yell at me or give me troubles since it's totally out of my control.  The hotel's shuttle service is contracted to a 3rd party.  The hotel's management team is too cheap to extend it in my view.  Because most of my shifts are evening shifts, I get the yelling.  So I'm going to make it clear here as another place of information of booking at my hotel:

If you plan to come to Canada & book with Ramada Limited Vancouver Airport in Richmond, BC, Canada, PLEASE remember that the hotel's airport shuttle service runs from 6AM - 9:30PM!  If you miss it, you need to get a taxi.  So, save me the pain & plan ahead!

Sorry if it sounds rude, but I really need to get this off my chest.  Because when summer comes & the shuttle schedule is still the same, I'm going to get a major headache & possibly need a heading aid device in the future.

In PSP news, I didn't notice this, but Sony has released a PSP console only package.  The price I think was CAD$229.99.  It only has the system & charger.  No bonuses or memory stick.  It's a great price if you plan to get those 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duos or higher & a better case.  But if you want those extra stuff, you better get the Value or, if you are lucky to find it, Giga packs.
