Information

When I heard about a Saber Alter plush coming out, I pretty much give up hope in getting it since there wasn't any online stores that I can get it from.  But luck would have it that YesAsia managed to carry it.

Some of the pictures aren't clear & good.  If I have time, I'll redo the bad ones & repost them.

The Review

Saber Alter plush from different sides in packaging

The packaging of Saber Alter is quite cheap.  She comes in a re-sealable clear plastic bag.  It really makes the product look cheap & easy for bootleg companies to copy.  Ways to distinguish them from the packaging is the bottom right product sticker & the TYPE-MOON hologram sticker at the back.  Also, the product tag should be around Saber Alter's back on the waist.  I don't really know since I haven't taken her out of the bag & I don't plan to since plushes are hard to clean when they get dirty.

As you can probably see, Saber Alter is pretty much flat.  For some reason, almost all character plushes from Japan that are in a standing position are flat & can't stand on their own two feet.  I'm not sure how you would display them like that.  Even when you try to, her body sort of bends a bit.  Mainly reason is the weight of her head.  Saber Alter's head is huge & round like a melon.  The weight of the head also affects the legs.

Anyways, Saber Alter is made for fabric mostly & different kinds of it.  The clothing is normal cloth & the hair is felt fabric.  The ribbon on her hair is an actual ribbon.  The boots are made of faux leather.  The black string around her abdomen area is an actual string.  Also, the fabric used for Saber Alter looks very good & the stitching job looks nice.

I like the look that Saber Alter has.  It's really dumbfounded really.  Another side of Black Saber you don't see much.  The facial features aren't stitched.  They are pressed.

Originally, I thought the head of Saber Alter is the same as the original Saber plush.  Turns out that they are actually a bit different.  The skin is a bit paler & it's missing that hair piece that sticks out on top of Saber's head.

Overall Conclusion

The Fate/hollow ataraxia night Saber Alter plush is really based on opinion.  Some may find it to look funny & cute or some may think it's ugly due to the face.  I personally like it since it's pretty funny.  Currently, I have her in her packaging.

I give the Fate/hollow ataraxia Saber Alter plush an 8/10.  The dress is nicely done with a good assortment of materials used.  They don't look like cheap stuff & seem to be better quality than the past Fate plushes.  Also, I love Saber Alter's facial expression.  It's pretty funny.

TYPE-MOON & Fate fans probably wouldn't scramble to get this.  Aside from the fact that it's not huggable, Saber Alter isn't a popular character as there are very little merchandises made of her at the time.  However, her popular has gone up since then & has produce some high demands a bit.  Anyways, this plush is now hard to find.  Personally, I don't think there will be a huge price increase on this as plushes are becoming a less popular item to collect due to the limitation of production & selection from toy companies.
