Introduction

I pre-ordered this Fate/stay night 2006 calendar from YesAsia.  Judging from the size, I thought it would be a desktop calendar that you put on your table.  However, it's actually designed to be hung on your wall.  Also, I didn't know what designs were in the calendar.  But I knew it had to be the game's designs.  When I found pics of it from EXhaust's website, I was a bit disappointed.  They are the same pics that I have as computer wallpapers & they are official ones.  Because I couldn't cancel my order, I had to live with it.

Some of the pictures aren't clear & good.  If I have time, I'll redo the bad ones & repost them.

The Review

Ignoring the black bar between the two pics, it makes one big pic.  When you click on the thumbnails, you will get the actual size of the calendar.  The pics inside the calendar isn't from Fate/stay night, but from Fate/hollow ataraxia.

All the pics are actual size when enlarged.  They are printed on hard cardboard-like paper material.  Something similar to those free small wall calendars or those other calendars having the same size as this that you get from those calendar stores or card shops like Hallmark, but only a bit tougher.  The bottom half of the calendar are the months & they are listed as one day.  There is a small square space for each date that you can write your memos on.  It covers all of 2006 & 2007.  There are six pics in total for the entire 2006 year.

All of these pics are based on the game designs & aren't original artworks for the calendar only.  I recognize them because I have the official computer wallpapers of them with the Fate/hollow ataraxia logos on the corners.  The only one I don't recognize is the Ilya one.  I'm sure it's in the game somewhere or the official computer wallpaper of it is floating around the web, but I haven't come across it yet.

As a bonus, it includes a "preview" 2007 calendar.  The designs of Saber, Sakura, & Rin aren't original as well since they are used in past products before.

Overall Conclusion

The 2006 Fate/stay night calendar is just a standard wall calendar you can get anywhere.  It's nothing special.  At that price it's offering, you can probably get a large poster sized one instead.  However, the materials of this one is a bit better & durable.  Plus, you have spaces for the dates to write important events & the 2007 dates for the whole year.

On a scale of ten, I give the 2006 Fate/stay night calendar a seven.  The functional use of the calendar is nice, but you can get cheaper calendars that offer the same thing.  Plus, all the artwork inside are just re-productions.  There's nothing new here & it disappointed me a bit.  If I haven't found out that those pics weren't available as official computer wallpapers, I may be more happier.  Also, the name is a bit misleading.  It should have been called Fate/hollow ataraxia instead, even though a lot of the characters in the calendar are from Fate/stay night.

Although it contains reused artwork, this is probably something Fate or TYPE-MOON fans will get.  It's more of a collector's item.  Although I won't recommend getting this calendar due to the pics & high price, finding it would be hard.  I haven't seen any available since I pre-ordered it.
