Required materials: PRECALCULUS ESSENTIALS-second edition by
Blitzer and the MAT 123 CALCULUS SUPPLEMENT for FALL 2007. (Please note
that this supplement is not the same as last semester and will be made
available in the campus bookstore in late September.)*Calculators will not be
permitted on quizzes or exams this semester.
Grading and Syllabus:

Exam #1 (20%) on
Monday 10/8/07 at 8:30PM (location to be announced). The exam will require you
to show work and will cover 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 4.5 (no shifts), 4.6 (tangent
only), 4.7, and 5.5 from PRECALCULUS ESSENTIALS.

Quizzes (20%)
There will be a quiz every other week in recitation beginning with the week of
5. Recitation Participation (20%) Attending recitation
with homework problems that were assigned in lecture is considered mandatory!
You will not be graded on accuracy; rather your TA will check to see that you
have attempted each problem. Again, those without recitation, consult your ELC
instructor for more information. Just
dropping the homework off with your TA and then leaving will give you little or
no credit. Also, please note that lecture homework may not be posted online, so
you should attend to get the notes and exercises!
