(Please note that this supplement is not the same as last semester and will be made available in the campus bookstore in late September.)*Calculators will not be permitted on quizzes or exams this semester.

Grading and Syllabus:

1.       Exam #1 (20%) on Monday 10/8/07 at 8:30PM (location to be announced). The exam will require you to show work and will cover 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 4.5 (no shifts), 4.6 (tangent only), 4.7, and 5.5 from PRECALCULUS ESSENTIALS.

2.       Exam #2 (20%) on Tuesday 11/13/07 at 8:30PM (location to be announced). The exam will require you to show work and will cover 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 2.6, and 1.10 from PRECALCULUS ESSENTIALS.

3.       Final Exam (20%) on Friday, 12/21/07 at 8AM (location to be announced). The exam will be cumulative and multiple choice with no part credit. New material will consist of all sections from the MAT 123 SUPPLEMENT.

4.       Quizzes (20%) There will be a quiz every other week in recitation beginning with the week of 9/17/07. Those without recitation, consult your ELC instructor for more information.

5.       Recitation Participation (20%) Attending recitation with homework problems that were assigned in lecture is considered mandatory! You will not be graded on accuracy; rather your TA will check to see that you have attempted each problem. Again, those without recitation, consult your ELC instructor for more information. Just dropping the homework off with your TA and then leaving will give you little or no credit. Also, please note that lecture homework may not be posted online, so you should attend to get the notes and exercises!
