Every country has a suicide rate. That means that in every single country there is in this small small war-torn world of ours, more than 30 people kill themselves each year. Now don't thinkof 30 as a mere number. Think of 30 people around you, all dead by the end of the year... Each year, in each country!

Okay, take Germany, where mary lives. In the year 2001, Germany's suicide rate has been calculated to be 2000 / year. More statistics coming up!

That means that your certain amount of people, let's say, 400 in each country... 400 people in each country commit suicide. But that's not all: because it means that 400 people see no other way out of their problems, life, unhappiness, other than DEATH. It means that 400 people want to die and no longer want to live. 400 people who've had enough of this world, whether it is a "sick sad world" or a "wonderful great fantastic happy happy life".

That means that there are big problems out there; problems that are strong enough to take over a person's entire life, until the person no longer wishes to live his / her life.

That means that if you wake up in the morning happy, go to sleep happy, smile a lot in the day, that you're one of the lucky people who live each day without having to wonder how you're going to make it through the day.

That means that a lot of people could do with some help. Even if it is the slightest bit of help, something to make one minute, one second, one hour in their miserable day, a happy minute/second/hour. One piece of happiness among lots of darkness.
