ASMODAY

Asmoday, also known as Ashmedai or Asmodeus, is a demon, recognized as an entity of great power among their kind and is the 32nd recorded spirit in the sacred Ars Goetia.
Asmoday, in regards to ability, is truly a force to be reckoned with even in the face of other demons. They are of a legendary wit, capable and very much notorious for beguiling others to both entertain themselves and get what they want out of other beings. If said deceptions can be bested, though, they will be willing to answer all questions truthfully and completely. A breath of fire may erupt from their mouth at will, and they often use this for destructive purposes. They teach the arts of arithmetic, astronomy, geometry, and all handicrafts, and can reveal treasures, guarding them if convinced to. Unspeakable power can be attained by those who seek the Lord of Intrigue; some say to the point of invincibility. They command a court of around 432,000 demons.

Like any true rogue of their prestige, Asmoday's legacy traces far back into literate history, and is duly important as to the evolution of humankind's relationship with demons. The antiquated trope of the "manipulative devil figure" that we know today is the direct result of their meddlings with various persons throughout time, which could be argued as being a prime suspect behind the bastardization in which demonic and occult practice has been associated with by laymen. Even when binded by the marvelous Solomon, it was Asmoday who led his research and convinced him that the demons truly were Abrahamic beings who fell from heaven. They may take form as an uncanny-looking humanoid, a stern ram or bull, or as a sly reptile, and can be a chimera of all of these things. Other notable physical characteristics include webbed feet, a serpentine tail, or great wings. They ride upon a horrible siege monster, and brandish a lance and banner during their conquests.

The personality of this spirit should not be underestimated, although they are certainly not an enemy. The ability to wield a silver tongue skillfully is one highly respected by Asmoday, and they do not expect others to use their gift exclusively for guile as they would be tempted to do. Seeking the powers and services of Asmoday directly is a great effort, as if they are not impressed then they may be willing to set their associates astray. A note of importance is their apparent dedication to Amaymon, Lord of The East, who they are wholly subservient to, and this relationship grants them Amaymon's boon of protection. Burnt offerings and the burning of incense is a superb method of worship for Asmoday, due to their affinity for fire. Cattle, ram and serpents are all sacred to Asmoday.
