The Plectrum tuning concert pitch notation ![]() |
Standard notation for pitch![]() |
The first string D can be tuned, stopped at 7th fret, to A= 440hz D|------------|------------|--------0++?|7++?=A=440Hz|D B|------------|--------0++?|0+++3+++--"?|------------|B G|--------0++?|0+++4+++--"?|------------|------------|G C|0+++7+++--"?|------------|------------|------------|C |
Tip:
A simple diatonic Key of 'C' harmonica, with 10 holes,
is as good as a pitch pipe,
to tune the Plectrum strings,
from the 1rst(Blow), 3rd (Blow and Draw), and 4th (Blow) holes.
The lower pitch harmonica row shows the C Major Triad _C E G_
can be blown through 3 Octaves and a 4th octave of C Natural,
so 12th fret banjo notes can be checked with the higher pitches
of ~C_G_B_D~ up one octave. A G Major chord can be
found in the lower Drawn notes of the first 4 holes with
a G(7) added on the 5th hole's ("F") _xDx[G B D (F)]

In conclusion (I digressed):
Other sources might show the 2 rows switched, top to bottom.
Since "C" is lower that "D",
I've used that convention, in logic.
Wail on!
