This website was built for my final project for SNHU IT270, Intro to Web Design. I used a combination of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to complete the objectives listed in the rubric. The website w3schools was a lifesaver for some of the elements I included.
I like the sleekness of dark websites, and I believe the gun them holds well with the greyscale of the overall page design. For ease of site navigation, I included a javascript supported side navigation bar which I believe keeps the layout cleaner, but simple to use, versus a static navigation bar. For the home page, the bold title states who the website is, with a picture of a number of custom works which can grab the user's attention and show them the possibilities of gun customization The about us page is clean with just a lot of text describing why I built this site, focusing only on the text keeps it cleaner in my opinion. For the services page, I feature a video that describes the process of cerakoting, which shows how intensive it is, before listing prices of my services. The gallery features a slideshow with a number of custom guns showing the range of work we can do. The contact us page is simple, with just a phone number and address, interactive map to our location, and a form to allow us to contact the user if they'd prefer.
In the future, I'd like for this website to be a more shiny, polished greyscale, rather than the matte greyscale that's included in html. I would like for the logo to be more professional and incorporated into the page titles, rather than static at the top right of the page. Future pages could incorporate a reviews page, which incorporates reviews left on all social media sites to further show value to the potential customer. For the home page, a scrolling image of specials or sales could be included.
