"Yo AJ?" Brian asked as they entered their room.
"Yeah?" AJ said looking up at Brian.
"What was that kiss you gave Melissa for?" Brian asked.
AJ shrugged. "I don't know Bri. I really like her. She's real sweet and understanding. She doesn't go mental when I touch her, like our other fans. She's not like most girls I normally date..she's more innocent like and have you seen the eyes she's got?" AJ asked but continued not letting Brian answer, "Man, you can get hypnotized when you look in them!"
"Yeah, I feel the same way towards her friend, Manda. She's unbelievable! Her eyes are outstanding, man, you could get lost in them. Actually, when were outside, I felt like kissing her the way you kissed Mel. But, I felt that I would be coming on a little too strong," Brian admitted,
"You know, Mel looked a little surprised but she sure does like you," he said with a smile.
"You think so?" AJ asked. He was a little skeptical about it.
Brian nodded. "Yeah, I seriously think she does!" he replied
"Oh, I never thought she would go for a guy like me!" AJ said with a shake of his head.
He then turned his attention to Brian. "You should've gone with that kiss with Manda. She looks like she really likes you a lot! And I don't mean she likes you as in idolizes you, as in she acctually likes you for who you are not what you do!" he said.
Brian sighed. "Yeah, well, what's done is done. If I'm really meant to be with her, fate will bring us together," he said as he looked at his hands. B
rian looked up at AJ and said, "Look, we got that basketball game in the morning and I don't want to be tired so, let's get to sleep." Brian shook his head as he noticed that AJ had already fallen asleep and was probably dreaming of Mel. That guy never could listen to anybody if they were spilling something to him. Brian thought as he got ready to go to sleep.

"…Yeah, Brian is such a sweetie. You know, when we were outside, I swore he wanted to kiss me. I wanted him to so bad but he's got his own way of doing things. Being such a gentleman he is. I couldn't push him into kissing me just because I like him. I don't even know if he likes me! Anyway, he invited me to watch him and the other guys play basketball tomorrow. I can't wait!" Manda rambled with excitement in her voice.
Mel wasn't really paying attention to what Manda was saying. All she could think about was the kiss AJ gave her. It felt like his lips were still on hers.
"I kissed him," she blurted out.
Manda whirled around and looked wide eyed at Mel.
"What!!…Who??….What??" Manda asked with a hint of shock in her voice.
"I kissed AJ," Mel replied. "He's soo…God, amazing! His eyes are like…Whoa!! It's like that song Heaven In Your Eyes. That's exactly what I see. Love, underst…" she was saying before she was interrupted by Manda.
"You like him, don't you?" she said with a smile.
Mel gave her a weird look. "What are you talking about? Why do you think that? I mean, just because I kissed him, you automatically think I like him," she replied trying to avoid Manda's gaze because she knew it was true.
Manda shook her head. "I just think he likes you. Is there problem with you liking him?" she asked.
Mel shrugged. "I don't know. I just thought he wouldn't fall for someone like me…"she trailed off."Anyway, I'm going to the basketball game tomorrow too!" she said without finishing her last thought.
"Wow, that's pretty cool," Manda replied.
"Ya I thought I was gonna faint when AJ asked me...Hey, I just got the most brilliant idea!" Mel said with a grin. "Why don't we challenge the guys to a game in the morning when they come get us?" she asked.
"OHMIGOD! That is so cool," Manda exclaimed, "Wonder why I never thought of that before?" she mumbled. "Because you're smart in school and well, I'm not and I'm smart in figuring out how to dominate over guys in a very popular sport. Especially in one that these guys play all the time!" Mel ended that sentence with the most devious smirk on her face. Manda pulled a brush out of her bag and started to brush her hair.
"What time are they coming?" she asked.
"In 8 F***IN' HOURS!" Mel gasped as she looked at her watch.
"Ok, ok, don't spaz out on me!! Besides, you're more of a talkative person with them than me and you know that!" Manda said putting her brush down.
"Ya, ya, I know! " Mel said with a smile, "Well, let's get some sleep! Night and sweet dreams of Bri!"
Manda returned the smile. "Yeah, sweet dreams of AJ!" she said as they both laughed.
Mel turned out the light. Manda fell fast asleep but it seemed all Mel could think about was the kiss she and AJ shared. She felt so right in his arms. None of the other guys she had dated really made her feel that way. AJ made her feel safe and warm in his arms. She looked at her watch.
"Holy Crap!! 5:20am!! I've been laying here thinking 'bout AJ for 4 hours!" she whispered to herself. She put her Millennium CD in her discman and made sure that the volume wasn't too loud. She listened to No One Else Comes Close and ended up falling asleep right after AJ's part before the chorus. She had really nice dreams of AJ, just as she thought she would.

One of Mel's dreams was still stuck in her head when she woke up. But, she didn't mind since it contained AJ. "…We were walking on this paradise beach. I was wearing a white floral tankini and AJ was wearing a pair of yellow surfboard shorts! He was so romantic. There was this blanket with all of these candles lit around it and all these rose petals spread out over the blanket. Right before we kissed, I woke up!" Mel said in a depressed voice.
At this time, it was only 7 in the morning and the two girls were fully awake. For both of them, this was really unusual. They were still in their pajamas eating their breakfast. Manda, on the other hand, wasn't really hungry but decided that she needed to eat anyway.
"Manda…Earth to Manda?? Have you even heard a word I said?? MANDA!!!!" Mel said as she finally got Manda out of her trance. Manda looked up startled.
"Yeah?? Sorry, you lost me there for a sec!" she admitted.
Mel smiled. "Yeah, I noticed! So, did you have any dreams of Bri last night?" she asked.
Mel was glad to have Manda there with her. They had planned on bringing their sisters, but she and Manda needed some time alone. When Cortney and Sonia find out this happened, they are going to flip! Manda sighed. She was deep in thought. "I don't remember," she said with hesitation, "I think I did."
"What do you mean you don't remember?" Mel asked.
Manda shrugged. "You know how some people can't remember their dreams? Well, I do remember seeing him though. He wasn't doing anything important but I did see him though," she replied.
"That's cool," Mel said as they finished up their breakfast. Soon the girls were getting ready for their game. They were determined to beat some Backstreet Butt!
"We are so going to kick their ass and you know it!" Manda said with determination.
Mel smirked. "Hey, we won 3, count 'em, 3 division championships for the girls varsity basketball team at school. Do you think we're gonna kick some Backstreet ass??" Mel said with sarcasm.
She knew the boys were good but, she didn't know how good. She and Manda talked about who was going to be on each team. "Fine," Manda sighed, "AJ can be on our team. He is kinda good." She was referring to the charity basketball game 93.3flz hosted and the BSB had played in.
"Yeah, I know he's good. Why do you think I want him on our team??" Mel asked while she wondered about what to wear.
Manda smiled and shook her head. She put on a pair of black Adidas tearaways with her navy blue Adidas shorts underneath and her white Nike shirt that she adored. She wore it to all her basketball practices. It said Girls Dominate on the front and Deal With It on the back with a picture of a basketball underneath.
Mel chose to wear her black Nike shorts, a Kentucky Wildcats jersey with a wide strap tank top underneath and a Wildcats hat. The Kentucky Wildcats, The WNBA Houston Comets and her high school basketball team, The Mustangs, were her favourite teams. She watched every Comets and Wildcats game to pick up some pointers. She and Manda were captains of their team and their teammates looked up to the two girls. Just as Manda finished up she heard a knock on the door.
"Hey guys, come on in," she said as she opened the door. She smiled at the guys as they walked into their room. "Hey Manda," they all greeted. Brian, on the other hand, just smiled at her.
"Hey Mel?" Manda yelled as she headed towards the bedroom.
"Yeah, waddia want??" Mel asked from the bedroom. Manda leaned on the doorway.
"Are you ready yet??" shed asked with a smile.
"Almost, why?" Mel replied looking over at Manda. Manda shook her head.
"Uh, 'cause, maybe they're here?" Manda said as she heard the guys laugh.
"Oh, in that case, I am!" Mel said as she came out of the room. Sitting in the living room were AJ, Nick, Brian and Kevin.
"Howie couldn't come. He had some business to take care of...." Kevin said with a smile.
"But, you still have us!" Brian cut in with a smile. Manda smiled at Brian as Mel said to the guys,
"That's ok! Manda and I wanna challenge you guys to a game!" She said this with a smile as she gave Manda a wink.
"Bring it on!" was all AJ could say. He was shocked that these girls wanted to take on Nick and Brian. They were really good. He, on the other hand, knew some moves but he and Kevin always got creamed when they played against Nick and Brian.
"What do the losers have to do?" Kevin asked with a hint of fear in his voice.
"Don't worry Kev, it's not too harsh," Manda reassured. "The pitiful losers have to buy the glorious winners lunch at any restaurant they want."
Mel nodded. "Alright, the teams are gonna be Manda, AJ and I against you, Brian and Nick. Ok Kev?" Mel asked with a devilish grin. Manda was also grinning. "Yeah, sure," Kevin said with uncertainty. He wasn't sure what he was getting himself, Brian or Nick into.
