Network
General
Two or more computers are connected by the means of communication & information exchange is called that the computers are in network.
The network makes faster information exchange and communication. The internet is a one type of large network. There are several topology of network but the easiest is the star topology.
To form a network, the following items are needed in each computer.
Network Adapter Card or Network Interface Card.
Cable.
Hub or Switch.
RJ 45 connectors.
The main thing in the networking is the cabling of the network. It depends on how the network is arranged. In star topology, each computer is connected to each other through hub. So the cabling for the star topology is different than the one to one network.
Generally, the cable used for networking is UTP cat-5 or cat-6. The UTP consist of 4 twisted pair.
The standard colors are:
White/blue - blue
White/orange - orange
White/green - green
White/brown � brown
The arrangement of these pairs is different for two computers if they are connected without the hub.
The scheme for cabling is:
Hub to Hub or one to one connection: one end Normal, other end Crossover Cable.
Hub to Computer connection: Normal on each end.
