Dear Families,
From our family to yours...
We are still going strong...this is the beginning of our 7th year. Welcome home to our extended family, Delta Company, who returned home in June.
We are looking for a few volunteers for some positions:
1) Webmaster for both the geocities and the GKO websites *needs to have a working knowledge of web-based programs - nothing too detailed, both programs are very simple *needs to have a good command of English - grammar, spelling, etc *duties would be performed on off-duty time (i.e. at home, at work, etc) *this person would work with the newsletter editor, get the newsletter and post it to the web Approximately 1 hour per month
2) Family Readiness Liaison (unit position)
*needs to be honest, personable and confidential *position works with the public, families and soldiers *needs to be able to outsource problems (family and soldier) that are above unit level (i.e. counseling programs, civilian help organizations) *needs to perform fundraising (picking up items for raffles, putting them together and selling at unit) *needs to be able get donations from business (sending out mailings, contacting sports organizations, etc) *needs to be able to organize events; to include planning, coordinating and minor decorating *needs to produce (write and edit) FRG newsletter and work with webmaster to get it posted on web *most duties would be performed on off-duty time (i.e. at home, at work, etc) *also perform MWR duties during AT and drill, with the ADURNCO *will work closely with the ADURNCO regarding soldier issues Approximately XX hours per month (depending on drill schedule)
3) Family Readiness Group Members (families) *position works more with the families than the unit *Currently have a president: Mrs. Koszyk and a treasurer: Mrs. Rigby *looking for families to start getting more involved, to take the lead in the FRG, so it will be more established when we deploy *needs to perform fundraising (picking up items for raffles, putting them together and selling at unit) *needs to be able get donations from business (sending out mailings, contacting sports organizations, etc) *needs to be able to organize events; to include planning, coordinating and minor decorating *most duties would be performed on off-duty time (i.e. at home, at work, etc) *would be able to use the armory for meetings Approximately XX hours per month (depending on drill schedule)
4) Family Care Plan (FCP) Coordinator (unit position)
*supports soldier and families
*fills out FCP checklist with soldiers
*reviews FCP for details
*works with CDR to get the FCP approved
*duties would be performed during duty hours Approximately XX hours per month (depending on soldiers' needs)
NJNG Military Appreciation Day At Jenkinson ’ s Boardwalk DATE: Labor Day, Monday, September 3 rd LOCATION: Jenkinson ’ s Boardwalk Point Pleasant Beach TIME: 1100-1700 Hours DETAILS: Open to current NJ National Guard Soldiers/Airmen (with IDs) and their immediate Family. NJNG Members will present their Military ID at the Welcome Table on the Boardwalk (foot of Parkway, opposite the Aquarium). Guard Personnel and their immediate family will be issued VIP wristbands entitling the wearers to free passage to the beach, unlimited rides, Fun House Entrance and the Aquarium from 11:00AM till 5:00PM. Wristbands are limited to IMMEDIATE FAMILY ONLY (spouse and children). All attendees are invited to attend the Labor Day Concert honoring the Troops given by Chaplain Stephenson and the Orchestra of St Peter by the Sea at 1930 concluding with a Fireworks Display at 2045. PARKING: Due to limited parking in Point Pleasant Beach, continuous shuttle service will be provided from Sea Girt Armory to Jenkinson’s 10:30 AM-9:30 PM.
