Green and Blue

At the start of the summer vacation, Mr. Rocky Cabayan was merely sitting around and fiddling with his computer. He already in "intense mode" while into one of his favorite past times - looking for jersey designs. He suddenly stumbled upon a picture of Mr. Didier Ilunga-Mbenga of the Dallas Mavericks. Mbenga was wearing the alternate road uniforms of Dallas which was colored green with blue trimming. Rocky liked it at once. A few days later, MIchigan State defeated Duke in the NCAA Sweet 16. Coincidentally, Michigan State also wore green unis. Yet another sign.

In the past, team B2004 had jerseys of colors black and blue, yellow, pink and orange, and white and red. Since there was no green in any of the past jerseys, Mr. Rocky was convinced that green must be the chosen color for the next class jersey. Rocky started to transfer the design from his head onto the Microsoft Paintbrush. It was quite simple, but the creating the design was more difficult than it seemed.

The major problem that Rocky faced each time a class jersey was being manufactured was collection of payments. Thus, he decided to look for sponsors. First that came in his mind was the Philippine Daily Inquirer; second was Solar Sports, and a distant third was Uratex. At first, Inquirer seemed reluctant to approve the sponsorship that was being asked. Unable to secure a commitment from Inquirer's Vice President, Rocky started to pursue Solar Sports as a back up. Mas maangas sana pag Solar Sports yung sponsor, pero mas mahirap kasi hindi ka-close yung Vice Pres doon eh. One day, Rocky's family ate lunch at his grandparents' home. Coincidentally, Tito Inquirer was also there. Rocky had to place Mr. Inquirer in somesort of trance for him to accept the solicitation.

After a very thorough pangungulit (magaling ako dun), Mr. Inquirer finally gave in. He said he will address the cheque to me, and in return, team B2004 will have the Inquirer's logo in the uniforms. Banners of the inquirer will also be placed in the bench area of our team. The deal was closed.

Ngayon naman, nakuha ko na yung mga putanginang jersey na yan. Thank God they were finished in time for the White Plains opening. Super nagagandahan ako sa top, kaso nga lang nabuburat ako kasi panget yung shorts, parang tinipid sa pintura. But nevertheless, a uniform is a uniform, what matters is parepareho tayong lahat. King Jond Crisol now has the uniforms of all team A players, including my idols Mr. Justin Qua, Mr. Daniel Mendoza, Mr. Akino Ungson, and Mr. Miguel Balmaceda. Consequently, DynaMike Delfin has team B's uniforms.

Basically, this article was written to announce that sa first laundry ng jersey and shorts, HUWAG MUNA GAMITAN NG WASHING MACHINE! Dapat daw handwash muna and dapat din HUWAG KUKUSOTIN! para sa mga konyo tulad nila jond at cholo, kusot means SCRUB.

Peace out, lets win the gold for Inquirer.
