| What is this mess? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Library of Babel was born June 7th, 02000. Being new it has not much personality or form yet. However, it plans to grow into a place where Librarians, LIS Students, and all of our friends can post art, essays, papers, and writing. What makes this differenet from other Library Journals or Boards you ask? Well besides the fact that we are accepting library related photos, art, poetry and fiction, the main difference is our #1 policy: Everyone is accepted. We don't care if you're Sandy Berman, a 90 year old lady who only visits the library for the water fountain, or some high-school kid shelving books for enforced communicty service hours....if it's library related, we want it and we'll be proud of it! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| An informal group of librarians, information whores, bookworms, artists, geeks, and bohemians know as Ranganathan Blues Productions made this. Abraxas is kind enough to lend some space and staff for this project. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Who's gonna clean it up? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| We are not idiots - we do realize that peer-reviewed publications exist for good reasons. However, The Library of Babel is going to be an experiment in the other direction. If in the end all we have are scans of old men mooning in the stacks, and cheesy poems about the dewey decimal system, then oh well....but we know you can do better than that. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| How do I add to the mix? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Send writing of any sort in an e-mail or even better(!) as an attachment to [email protected] - It will get to our attention QUICKER if you put LIBRARY OF BABEL in the subject line somewhere. The same goes for photos and artwork. If you really want to go the slow road, e-mail us and we'll send you a mailing address. Don't want to send us your "Intellectual Property"? How about just sending us a LINK to your paper, art, etc..... Include you name and e-mail so we can let you know when stuff is posted! |
