The Arizona Black United Fund Inc.(ABUF) founded in 1985 is very proud of our history, accomplishments and contributions as a member and one of 16 affiliates of the National Black United Fund (NBUF)

The National Black United Fund (NBUF) created in ?972 in Los Angeles was founded by Mr. Walter P. Bremond to re-establish the notion of self-investment in African Americans.  The headquarters of the NBUF is now located in Newark, NJ.  Affiliates are located in Arizona, New York, Detroit, Los Angeles, Canton, Atlanta, Baltimore, Bay Area (Oakland), Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Portland, St. Louis, Boston, Kansas City and Houston.

Arizona Black United Fund is a fund raising organization designed to provide support to projects and programs that address the critical needs of Black communities throughout the state of Arizona.  ABUF's primary fundraising mechanism is through the payroll deduction process of city, state, and federal employees.  AT&T employees may now also donate through their payroll deduction process.  Black businesses are also encouraged to support ABUF through the payroll deduction process.

Primary interests of ABUF are:  Economic Development, Education, Health, Culture, Social Justice, Youth, Elderly, Housing, and Employment.
