Islands Tour -  itinerary

DAY 1 Airport arrival- 130 km taxi ride to the hotel

Your fellow travellers will be arriving at all times from around the world today, so there are no arranged activities for the daytime. Our taxi driver will pick you up at Bangkok Airport. He will hold AVALON sign with your name. The taxi ride to the hotel at Jomtien Beach takes about one hour. We shall hold a meeting in the evening when everyone arrives (alternatively next morning in case of flight delays) and if you wanted to visit a night market you'll be welcome to join me. I shall leave a note at the reception explaining this. Accommodation with breakfast in Jomtien.

DAY 2 Local ride and sightseeing

In the morning motorcycles will be delivered. You can relax at the pool or on the beach opposite the hotel to get rid of jet-lag in the morning. Alternatively should you consider that you are not experienced enough, have not ridden for some time or just wish to ride with a group you can join our short morning ride/training. We shall ride to Thai Buddhist temples, lake Yang and Big Buddha mountain. On the way back we shall pass Bang Sare fishing village and the beach where we shall stop for a drink. In the afternoon you can do some shopping particularly items you might need during the tour. We shall have a dinner together this evening. Accommodation with breakfast in Jomtien.

DAY 3 From Jomtien to Ko Samet Island (ride)

Today we shall have an early start. The reason is that we have to be on time for our boat departure to Ko Samet. We shall ride South East on a four lane highway to a fishermen's' village Ban Phe. It is going to take us about an hour from the pier to the island. We shall leave our motorcycles on the mainland as there is hardly anything you could call "a road" on Ko Samet. The island is ideal for swimming, snorkeling and fishing. We shall be back on the mainland by sunset. Accommodation with breakfast in Ban Phe.

DAY 4 From Ko Samet Island to Ko Chang Island (ride)

Today the tour follows the coastline to Chantaburi where you can visit the "Gem Street", where the gem stones are traded (sapphires and Siam rubies from this region are world known). Khao Sa Bap national park and Piew waterfall are only 30 kilometers south. Tropical rainforest is stretching from this park into Cambodian mountains. There we shall arrive to the ferry port. Koh Chang, the Thailand's second biggest island has white sand beaches, mangroves and beautiful rainforest with spectacular waterfalls. This island has been discovered by tourists only recently and is a heaven for nature lovers. The whole island is a national park. Dense vegetation covers the mountainous interior, with some of the hills reaching a height of 800 meters. The roads are good and choice of secluded beaches is unlimited. 70 kilometres of roads will give you a chance to explore every part of this pearl. Accommodation with breakfast on Ko Chang.

DAY 5 Ko Chang Island / beach /sightseeing / local ride

You can choose to either spend a day on the beach, explore rainforest with waterfalls or encircle the island on motorcycle. Eating on Ko Chang means a feast at very reasonably priced restaurants, located almost on the beach. During high tide, the waves lap around your feet while your attention is torn away from the evening meal, and your eyes are focused on a star-studded sky. Accommodation with breakfast on Ko Chang.

DAY 6 From Ko Chang Island to Jomtien (ride)

We are on the road again. First a ride to ferry. After a short crossing about half an hour to The Oasis Sea World at Laem Sing which is a breeding and conservation centre for dolphins, particularly rare bottlenose Irrawaddy dolphin. See these intelligent mammals play, enjoy the show or swim with them after. We shall continue our ride along the coast stopping at couple of nice spots for refreshments and a swim. DAY 7 Local ride / sightseeing /beach

Today is your day off. You can relax at the pool or on the beach opposite the hotel or do some shopping and local sightseeing. But if you are still in mood for a ride you can join me and we shall go exploring nearby bays and Sattahip peninsula. We shall ride visit Sattahip Royal Thai Navy base, morning food market and couple of bays with sand beaches. As this will be a morning ride you will still have the afternoon for yourself. We shall have a farewell dinner together this evening. Accommodation with breakfast in Jomtien.

DAY 8 Transfer from Jomtien Beach to Bangkok Airport

Your motorcycle touring holiday is ending today. You will receive a DVD with photos and video clips of your escapades during the tour before our taxi picks you up. The time will be arranged depending on your flight departure. The ride from the hotel at Jomtien Beach to the airport takes about one hour. We recommend to book an evening/night flight, giving you an extra day at the end of your holiday.
