Creating An Altar
A basic altar will have a representation of the four elements, representation of god or goddess or both if you would like, a pentacle and something to hold water like a chalice. When you are starting out you should not need a wand or athame.
For your representation of the elements you could use some salt or earth for Earth, a small bowl of water or a shell for Water, a red candle for Fire and incense (with holder) or feathers for Air.
For your representation of the God and Goddess you could use a silver candle and a gold candle or statuettes.
You can make your pentacle with salt dough, this way you can make and paint it yourself this will make it more personalized and more powerful, or you could buy one at an occult store.
For the altar it can be permanant or impermanent. Using a dresser, a table or even a collapsable table will work fine. If you choose to use an altar cloth be very careful with the candles that are nearby.
