Bob Richmond

Bob Richmond began training in Tae Kwon Do with his wife in 1992. This was a result of his children participating the training. His passion soon grew. He currently holds a 6th degree black belt and instructs at Bright Path in Rapid City, South Dakota. His students can see his passion  through his very spirit. He is a kind, but persistent, instructor, with whom   his students can not help but respect.

Deb Richmond

If you want to meet the most amazing high-ranking female taekwondo instructor, look no further than Deb Richmond. Her fire rages from her very being, where her students can not help but admire her passion. Like her husband, she began training after her children took up the art. Since, she has also received her 6th degree black belt, making her the second highest female black belt in the United Chung Do Kwon Association. Her spirit and persistence are remarkable.

The intent behind this website is to allow a forum for Bright Path taekwondo to communicate with students and gain new students through a venue more professional than a social media page. (Bright Path does have a facebook page. It's a real taekwondo school that the owner gave me permissions to create a webpage, as well as use photos and other details.) I ensured adequate information was available for prospect students, as well as a means to request additional information.

I wanted to keep the design as simple and sleek as possible. I find that some sites are just too loud and busy from all the design that went into it, to the point that it can be distracting. I really wanted this webpage to highlight the amazing instructors, and well as a nice gallery to show off their impressive students (The ones doing the throws and kicking the apple out of the guy's mouth is me!). I seleccted the background i did to have some nice repetetive background that would also fit the Korean Taekwondo Theme. In this case, it's the Korean Character for the Tennants of Taekwondo, which are discussed on the philosophy page. This is a page that is definitely easy to navigate, with the five buttons on the top leading to the additional pages.

Since the owners of Bright Path expressed some interest into me creating a serious business page for them, there is definitely some room for improvement. Most of the other martial arts webpages I looked at were very impressive. It wasn't embedding media that made them impressive either. It was simply the style that went into building it. I think that, for the most part, the data is in the way that I would want it. I would spend more time on the style sheet, ensuring that it is on par with other martial arts webpages, thus making it competitive.
