Reading comprehension
- Perform the reader's theater with a person of the opposite sex paying close attention to voice inflection.
- Prepare a collage showing as many actions from the text as possible
- Prepare and perform an interpretive dance demonstrating as many actions from the text as possible.

Vocabulary
- Design a data base for all new vocabulary you learn in this work with each word a separate record and the fields including information such as: the part of speech, gender, plural form, imperfect, participle irregular present tense, etc.
Grammar
- After reading a series of paragraphs, observe the sentences with a scientific eye looking for patterns, make a hypothesis of the rules for forming the present perfect tense. Test out your hypothesis to see if the sentences in later paragraphs follow your hypothosized rules. Write a text about your life, have Mr. Davey check it to see if you can use your rules to formulate correct sentences. Analyse and revise your rules. Write a summary of the grammar rules which your experiment proves. This could be done in a lab report format.
- Design and/or build a "machine" which can change a present tense sentence to the present perfect tense or the reverse, i.e. past to present. This could be a real Rube Goldberg apparatus, a computer flow chart or any creative mechanism in two or three dimensional format which graphically or kinesthetically shows the transformation process.
