INTERNATIONAL SUMMER ASTROSCHOOL

of Astronomy with the
National
Astronomical Observatory - Rozhen, Bulgaria, and the Informational
Center for European Educational Programmes -Bulgaria organize Summer International
Youth Astronomical School. Students from last classes who are interested
in astronomy will have the opportunity to participate in observations of
astronomical objects, will listen to lectures and will discuss in the National
Astronomical Observatory- Rozhen. Together with astronomers from the Observatory
the young people will work on interesting observational progarmmes, they
will be taught in thePlanetarium in Smilian town, they will see interesting
historical and nature monuments.
The summer school will take part from June 29th 2003 to July 08th 2003 in the National Astronomical Observatory in Rozhen. Students will be divided into 3 main groups and will work on different observational programmes, they will analysis the observations and will publish them in the web-page of the Summer school. Themes of the groups are: The Sun, Variable stars, Deep Sky objects, Comets and asteroids and Astrophotography. Professional astronomers will read lectures. Discussions: Live in the Universe, Astronomical education in Europe.
