As Chris enters town, see man (Guillaume) chasing little girl (Shabon) across screen. Say " ." When get to center of town, on the Guilde Hall Street, close to the Inn, will see an aqua-haired Elf (Nei) and a man in a cap (Toppo). Talk to them. Nei will ask if you've seen an oddly dressed little girl. Claims is worried about her.
Walk to courtyard in front of Guilde Hall. See Guillaume now chasing Shabon around courtyard. She doesn't sound happy, wanting to leave. He won't let her.
Chris steps in and tells him to leave the girl alone. Guillaume challenges Chris to a duel and calls out, "Prepare yourself, boy." Chris indignantly returns with, "Who called me a boy!" The duel begins [C2c2].
If you lose, you may try to re-duel him. If you win, The musicians thank you and Chris replies, "As a knight, it's my duty." Toppo and Shabon will start playing a chasing game while Nei and Chris get into a conversation about the difficulty in finding performing areas, and Chris offers Lake Castle. Nei, Toppo, and Shabon are recruited.
This scene can be played out with Hugo, Thomas, Geddoe, or the Flame Champion as well. However, Guillaume's and the Troupe's responses to them are not quite as amusing as they are to Chris.
